The Mindfulness Based Therapy Program

Established in 2012 at Bar Ilan University, The Mindfulness Based Therapy Program has currently welcomed its fifth class. The program offers a three year, in-depth theoretical, clinical and experiential course of study, drawing upon cognitive, psychoanalytical and relational sources together with original Buddhist texts and western mindfulness studies.

The program trains mental health practitioners to better understand and apply the practice of Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy.

Participants learn to:

  • Integrate mindfulness based approaches into the clinical setting
  • Assimilate in-depth theoretical information
  • Apply mindfulness techniques to daily life situations and social frameworks.

Central Topics:

1.    In-depth study of relational mindfulness
2.    Buddhist Psychology
3.    ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)
4.    CFT (Compassion Focused Therapy)
5.     Authentic Movement
6.    Psychoanalytic perspectives and
7.  Current western mindfulness theory and research

Institute staff includes established teachers of clinical practice, theory and meditation. The program presents an original, research based and contemporary definition of mindfulness based psychotherapy.

The book, Mindfulness – To be Here and Now: Practices, Contemplations and Applications (ed. M. Lieblich) published in 2018 by Keter, greatly represents the course of study.
